Bringing Laser-Based Wellness Beyond the Clinic
For more than two decades, Dr. Kirpa Johar has worked with laser therapy in clinical practice. Over those years, one idea became increasingly clear to him: care cannot always end when a patient leaves the clinic.
Many conditions require consistency. They need attention not just during an appointment, but in the weeks & years between the visits. This became the foundation of Dr. Johar’s home-wellness vision: making appropriate laser-based wellness solutions accessible for people to use as part of their everyday care at home.
That vision led to the HD Lase range, a collection of home-use devices designed to bring therapeutic red light into a simple, practical routine. HD stands for Healing Device, reflecting the purpose behind the range: giving people another way to actively participate in their own ongoing care.
Built on Clinical Experience
Dr. Johar’s work in home wellness is grounded in more than 20 years of clinical practice with laser technology. Since beginning his clinical journey in 2006, he has worked across laser dentistry and photobiomodulation, treating more than 3,000 laser cases.
It is this experience with patients, including seeing what happens after they leave the clinic, that continues to shape the development and use of HD Lase devices.
From Patients to Practitioners
Alongside his clinical and home-wellness work, Dr. Johar founded the KJO Laser Therapy Academy in 2012 to educate dental and medical professionals in the practical use of laser technology.
He is also the author of Fundamentals of Laser Dentistry, now in its Second Edition, and has mentored dentists practising across more than 15 countries.
Today, these different parts of his work share the same underlying purpose: taking laser therapy from something people encounter occasionally in a clinic to something that can become part of how they care for themselves every day.
